Emily Olson
Senior Vice President, Controller
Emily Olson serves as Beneficial State Bank’s Controller. With over 20 years of experience in banking, Emily has served in various roles from Branch Operations Supervisor to Internal Auditor. Emily graduated from the University of Washington with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. She also holds a Master of Business Administration in Sustainable Systems from Pinchot University (now part of Presidio Graduate School). Founded in 2002, Pinchot University was the first in the U.S. to offer a program that incorporated concepts of economics, sustainable business, social justice, and systems thinking into a traditional MBA curriculum.
Emily truly believes in the power of nonprofit organizations to strengthen communities by providing educational, health, and social services to underserved populations. She’s volunteered and served in leadership capacities with organizations such as Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity. As an advocate for fair access to medical services and dispelling mental health myths, Emily serves on the Board of Directors for Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS). KMHS works to combat individual, interpersonal, and institutional racism that undermines mental health of the individuals, families, and communities it serves. She also has the pleasure of serving on the board of Kitsap Humane Society (KHS), which works to improve animal welfare. KHS has pioneered legislation in the State of Washington so that it can provide veterinarian services to low-income families.
When not working, Emily enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring the natural beauty of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
