Richard Chavez

Richard Chavez is a finance and accounting leader with nearly 18 years of experience in the banking industry. As Senior Vice President and Controller at Beneficial State Bank, Richard oversees accounting operations, internal controls, regulatory reporting, and the annual financial audit. Previously, Richard served as Vice President and Controller at West Coast Community Bank, leading financial reporting and supporting balance sheet management and process improvements. 

Richard started his banking career at JPMorgan Chase as a teller and later advanced into a Licensed Relationship Banker role, earning his Series 6 and Series 63 licenses. Richard is a proud Spartan, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Finance from San Jose State University.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys traveling and recreational activities along the central coast, such as hiking, long strolls along the beach, and wine tasting in Paso Robles and Santa Ynez Valley.
